The Finished Quilt

The Finished Quilt is a full service quilting Studio. The goal is to help you complete your creative works, workshop/retreat projects, or gifts sewn from the heart, in short order and at affordable prices. This allows you more time to enjoy creating and rumaging through your stash, or pursuing other interests and not having to worry about the finishing details. No more rainy-day projects or attic finds that you don't know what to do with- these I especially enjoy!

Along with machine quilting, I also restore quilts that are attic finds or quilts that have many memories attached to them and are well worn. I am working on collecting my own stash of fabrics from the early 1900's, and so can match most prints and enable these quilts to be functional again, and extend their life.

You're invited to drop by the Studio and help choose your quilting design(s) and/or thread color(s)- there is a full selection to look through, or we can create something unique, just for your piece....or you can leave the choices up to me.

I work with most kinds of batting and all kinds of different fabrics- from cottons, polyesters, to T-Shirt quilts and more. Currantly I am working with a Gammill Classic Plus Longarm quilting machine and it handles most anything - and I'm up for at least trying! The machine is not computerized, yet - as I enjoy free-motion quilting, and the freedom to create that it allows.

Prices are charged by the square inch. There is a base machine charge which covers the costs of thread, maintenance and time putting the quilt on the machine.

Stitch Pricing:

Edge to edge/all-over/pantograph ...010/sq-in

One border and a pantograph ......... .015/sq-in

Custom patterns/free motion ......... .020/sq-in

Heirloom/dense stitching .............. 0.25/ sq-in

How to figure out the price:

Step 1: (# of inches of width)
x (# inches of length)
= Total square inches

Step 2: (Total square inches) x (stitching price)

Step 3: Add machine charge
and others services that you wish done

Hand quilting- space is available at the Studio for those looking for, or in need of space to set up a frame to hand quilt.
